WHY EXHIBIT AT SNSR?
Saudi Arabia is the first economic power of the Middle East and the richest Arabian country. The policy of huge infrastructure projects managed by the government as well as the direct foreign investment and the solidarity of the bank and financial system have allowed this country to become the first regional economy and one of the leading economies in the world. Also, in spite of the decline in petroleum revenues, and the reduction policy of these public expenditures, the defense and security sectors considered as strategic by the Saudi authorities, remain preserved because of the geo-political context (war at Yemen, conflict in Syria) and the internal situation (terrorist activist).
The ministry of defense sees its budget increased on a 6,6% in 2017 to reach 45 billion Euros. Saudi Arabia foresees to acquire 90 billion products relative to Homeland Defense/ Homeland Security between 2017 and 2020.
Following the 2017 partnership agreement between the 2 countries, US is now supporting Saudi Arabia security and defense needs on the five following categories : border security and counterterrorism, maritime and coastal security, air force modernization, air and missile defense, and cybersecurity and communications upgrades. Included are offers of extensive training and support to strengthen US partnership and the Saudi armed forces.
This agreement demonstrates the United States’ commitment to strengthen the partnership with Saudi Arabia, while also expanding opportunities for American companies in the region, potentially supporting tens of thousands of new jobs in the United States.
